Scenic City Fun

We are enjoying the joy of watching leaves change for the first time in three years. Lookout Mountain provides an unbelievable taste of fall. One night when the weather was crisp, we hopped in the car and took off to the launch point for hanggliders and saw a phenomenal sunset. There are some pictures of that venture to the left. The view was stunning. We are so grateful for the joy of such a view.

We also enjoyed a family trip to Rock City which is a 1/2 mile away from our home. The weather never rose above 70 and the view from the top is still breathtaking. Kendra and Jeb had the guts to walk across the swinging bridge. Brian and Sutton declined, mostly because Daddy was a scaredy cat. Again, see picture to left and follow Family Pictures link for more.

God has been so good to us here. Relationships are sweet and growing. The church is stable and fervent in its commitment to the gospel of the kingdom. We feel deeply called to the people in this community. Our small group of 6 other young married couples with young children on Thursday nights is a highlight in our week. Jeb (and Mommy) enjoys two days each week in his Mother's Day out program. Brian enjoys Tuesday mornings when 50 men gather to discuss the rich truths found in John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress. There is a huge need for growth in grace here at Lookout Mountain and we feel honored to share the joys of the gospel together with God's people here.

This Sunday, Sutton will be baptized while Brian preaches on the 5th commandment in the presence of all of our family. It should be a sweet day. Pictures will surely follow.

For Sutton's sake, I am overjoyed that she was baptized today and welcomed into the covenant family. For Daddy's sake, I am sorry that it had to come on the heals of an embarrassing loss to UT. I know you had a lot of sin to repent of at church this morning, and I hope the baptism provided a good reminder of what life is all about. Keep up the blogging, and we love the pictures!
