Sutton Christine Salter has arrived and is happily home in Georgia. Sutton is Kendra's mother's maiden name and Kendra has always wanted a girl name Sutton in order to honor the women of her family, specifically her 84 year old Granny Sutton. Her middle name, Christine, is in honor of Brian's mother. We pray that Sutton will be a woman who honors the Lord in and through her family for all of her days.
The Lord has been so gracious to give us a healthy daughter. We are so thrilled. Particularly, Kendra is relieved. Our family got hit with a virus last Sunday. I led off the inning with the virus and then Jeb contracted it as well. Then on Wednesday, the virus hit Kendra and of course sent her into her labor. Sutton was bron on Saturday, June 3 at 7:50 AM and Kendra's contractions essentially began as she got sick on Wednesday. We went to the hospital late on Thursday night for the sake of getting Kendra hydrated and out of concern due to the contractions. After the night in the hospital, we came home Friday AM thinking that things were going to improve. However, the contractions never went away all day. Friday night we went back to the hospital for the same reasons as the previous trip only to find out that this time she was ready to deliver. Though two weeks early, Sutton is healthy and strong weighing 7lbs 1oz and 20 1/2 inches long. We are home from the hospital and settling into life as a family.
God be praised for his provision and kindness to us during this tiring time. We are blessed more than we can comprehend! Join us in giving thanks to our King for the gift he has enturusted to us. Glory to our God for extending His kingdom through this precious new little girl!
